As we finish up shows here in Dubai we hear the sad news of Pina Bausch’s death. Her work was such an inspiration and was more and more influential on our little juggling world. Much of the work that our generation of Circus performers produced would have been inconcievable without her. My last memories are of Pina Smoking outdoors at the stage door of Saddler’s well Theatre during their London performances of the seminal Cafe Muller and the unforgettable “Rite of Spring”. We have lost an artistic godmother and in this day and age they are hard to come by.
